Forestry England are looking for a Biodiversity Ecologist, based either at their Bellingham office near Hexham, Northumberland, or at Grizedale in Cumbria, with blended working available. The role centres on maintaining and improving the condition of Sites of Special Scientific Interest through the development and delivery of management plans, alongside work on protected habitats and species under Defra-funded projects. The postholder will provide ecological advice to ensure sites, habitats and species are managed in line with wildlife legislation and best practice, and will support operational teams with restoring ancient woodland and improving habitat connectivity across the district.
As always, best of luck!
