
Forestry England are recruiting for a role supporting the beat forester across a broad range of practical forest operations and inspections. Duties include restocking and establishment work such as hand planting and fencing, clearing and maintaining trees through pruning and felling, tree safety inspections and remedial work, estate maintenance along roads and paths, and a variety of surveys covering timber mensuration, stocking density, ecology, and recreation trails. The postholder will also assist with Wild Areas projects and occasional woodland creation activities, working to health and safety standards guided by the Forest Industry Safety Accord. Candidates should have practical experience in forestry or countryside management, competence with hand tools, and a City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award or equivalent in practical forestry skills, along with a full UK driving licence.
