
Euroforest are recruiting a Forest Manager for their Northern England forest management team, based at the Carlisle office. The post sits alongside colleagues in both harvesting and forest management, delivering forestry services across a client portfolio in upland and lowland settings.
The work covers identifying, assessing and implementing forest management operations, and delivering operational programmes that meet client objectives while staying within health and safety, environmental and regulatory standards. Other duties include liaison with clients, landowners and statutory bodies, coordinating establishment and maintenance work across conifer, mixed and broadleaved crops, drawing up budgets, annual reports and financial forecasts, writing management plans and long-term production forecasts, programming thinning and felling including timber assessment, marking and mensuration, monitoring compliance on timber sale contracts, handling tenders, and supporting regional business development.
Candidates will need hands-on forest management experience, a relevant qualification in forestry or a related land or science-based discipline, and knowledge of forestry and environmental legislation along with UKFS and UKWAS. Commercial awareness and an understanding of the full operational cycle from planting and restocking through to harvesting are expected. PAWS and ASNW management, awareness of grant and regulatory systems, and membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters are listed as desirable, with support available for those working towards professional membership. GIS and Office 365 skills and a full clean UK driving licence are required. Training on company systems and ongoing professional development are provided.
