
Forestry and Land Scotland are looking for a Forest Liaison Officer to join the Infrastructure Project Management Team in their South Region, based at Newton Stewart, Dalbeattie, Dumfries or Ae. The team works with foresters, planners, engineers, environmental advisers and developers to accommodate utility, renewable energy and other infrastructure developments across the national forests and land.
The officer will act as a point of contact between FLS operational teams, developers, utility providers, contractors and specialist advisers, coordinating infrastructure proposals and construction work with forestry operations, environmental requirements and land management objectives. The role also covers providing information and mapping, monitoring activity on site, resolving operational issues and ensuring projects are delivered in line with agreements and permissions.
Applicants will need relevant knowledge and experience in forestry, land management, infrastructure, utilities, renewable energy or construction, along with strong communication and stakeholder skills and good Microsoft Office ability. Project management, land use planning, GIS or infrastructure development experience is desirable, as are qualifications in forestry, civil engineering, construction, renewables or electrical infrastructure.
