Forestry and Land Scotland are looking for an Infrastructure Project Manager to join their South Region team, based at Dumfries, Ae or Dalbeattie. The region covers around 170,000 hectares of public land across southern Scotland, taking in timber production, woodland creation, peatland restoration, renewable energy developments and visitor attractions. The post sits within the Energy and Infrastructure team.

The manager will lead delivery of major utility and infrastructure projects across the national forest estate, heading a multidisciplinary team and overseeing complex negotiations with utility providers. The role covers oversight of a portfolio of infrastructure projects, stakeholder engagement, and working alongside planners, engineers, land agents and operational teams to balance infrastructure development against environmental, operational and commercial priorities. It also carries a seat on the South Region Leadership Team.

Applicants will need project management experience, strong negotiation, decision-making and influencing skills, and experience of leading and developing a team. An HND or higher in a relevant discipline such as construction, engineering, land management, planning, landscape architecture or forestry is required, along with professional membership of a relevant body or a commitment to achieve it within two years. Experience of utilities infrastructure, construction project management, large-scale land management or the planning and regulatory environment is desirable.
