The Forestry Commission is recruiting Area-based Landscape Recovery Woodland Officers to cover large regions across England. The role sits within the Landscape Recovery strand of the Environmental Land Management schemes, delivered alongside Natural England, the Environment Agency and Defra.

The officer is the Forestry Commission's main contact for landowners and stakeholders exploring tree planting and woodland management at a landscape scale. The work involves advising colleagues and applicants on project development and delivery, handling regulation and grant applications, supporting outcomes like natural flood management and habitat restoration, reviewing woodland management plans, and engaging partners such as the Woodland Trust, NFU, CLA and local farm cluster groups. It's an area-based post within a wider team, with occasional overnight travel. A forestry or land management qualification and/or equivalent experience is expected.
