Forestry England are looking for a Technical Arborist to join the Westonbirt Tree Team, based at the National Arboretum in Westonbirt. The role covers a broad range of aerial and ground-based arboricultural work — tree climbing, section felling, rigging and pruning, alongside planting, establishment checks, dead-wooding and stump-grinding — as well as general grounds maintenance and care of young plants in the propagation unit. The postholder will monitor the collection for pests and disease, work to high biosecurity and health and safety standards guided by FISA, and liaise with colleagues and the public. A City & Guilds NPTC Level 3 Award (or equivalent) in Aerial Chainsaw use from a Rope and Harness is essential, along with a full UK driving licence.
